Everything to get ready for your design.

A simple list of what to gather and send us. The more you share, the faster and sharper your website turns out — but almost nothing here is required. Even just an idea is enough to begin.

Tick things off as you gather them. Don’t have it all? That’s completely fine — we can design a logo, write your content and add pages anytime. Send us what you can before we start, and we’ll work out the rest together.

Sites you love — the heart of our process.

2–5 websites you admire — plus a quick note on what you like about each (the layout? the colours? the feel?).

1–3 competitor sites — and what they do well, or badly. We’ll build you something better.

The basics

A short description of your business — what you do and who it’s for. Your business name — exactly how you want it shown. Contact details to display — phone, email, address, opening hours. Your main goal — what should visitors do? Call, buy, book or enquire.

Your brand

Logo files — the best quality you have (PNG, SVG, PDF or the original). No logo? We’ll create one. Brand colours — hex codes if you know them, or just “navy and gold”. Fonts — any you currently use or love. The feel you want — modern, minimal, bold, friendly, professional, luxury… Anything to avoid — colours, styles or a look you dislike.

Your pages & content

The pages you want — Home, About, Services, Contact… we can add more anytime. Page text — written content or rough bullet points. We can write it with you. Photos & images — products, team, premises. Need stock photos? We’ll source them. Videos — anything to feature or embed. Testimonials & reviews — to build trust with visitors. FAQs — common questions worth answering up front. Trust badges — awards, certifications, association or partner logos.

Features you’d like

Enquiry / contact forms — and the fields you need. Online bookings or a calendar. Newsletter signup. Photo gallery or portfolio. Blog or news section. Customer login / member area. Social media links — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn… Map / location.

Domain & email

The domain name you want — check availability at GoDaddy, whois.sc or austdomains.com.au. Or we’ll handle it. Registrant details — your name or business name, postal address and phone. ABN & business name .com.au only — required for an Australian domain (ACN / BRN / Trademark also accepted). Email setup — full domain inboxes, or forwarding to your existing address.

Goals & search · optional

Your keywords — if you could rank #1 on Google for a few phrases, what would they be? List 3–10, with your top 1–3 in priority. Analytics — a Google Analytics account, if you’d like stats connected (every site comes with built-in statistics too).

Redesigning an existing site?

Your current website address. What to keep — pages, features or content you’re happy with. What frustrates you — so we make sure to fix it. Any logins you have — domain, hosting or site admin. Don’t have them? We’ll guide you.

Anything else you’ve got

Brochures, flyers or print material — great for matching your brand. Documents to scan or convert — old text, price lists, menus. Layout ideas — a rough sketch or notes on how you’d like pages arranged. Just an idea — honestly, this alone is enough for us to start.

Selling online? There’s a short extra list.

For an online store we’ll also need your products, prices, any variations, product photos, plus your shipping and payment preferences.

How to send it all

Email anything — links, notes, photos, documents — to contact@budgetwebdesign.com.au.

Word documents with your page titles and text are an easy, efficient way to send your content. And remember: you don’t need it all up front — once your site is live you can add and edit pages, text and images anytime from your own admin.
